Uma entered the library quietly, carrying the book she’d checked out. She still wasn’t done reading it, not because she didn’t want to be, but because she was uncertain she wanted to finish it; though she already knew how it ended. She was looking for another quiet place to read. A place where she was sure she would avoid certain people. The possibility of them coming here was none to slim, but even so, they were not likely to pay the place a visit.

Finding a nice spot on the far side away from the entrance, she claimed a table for herself, took a seat, and placed her bag on the tabletop. Removing the book she picked up, she laid it next to her bag, and stared at it. Her fingers ran across the cover delicately, before she opened it to where she’d left off. Something about Ariel having a meeting with a seagull or whatever is the last place she remembered stopping. She sighed, leaning on the table, as her dark irises seemed to skim the pages, picturing every detail provided. She could almost hear her mother’s voice upon reading her quotes, and rolled her eyes, but she continued.

She did a little more ‘speed reading’ all the way up until she got Prince Eric’s ship, before bookmarking, and shutting it again. Leaning back in her seat, she put her arms on the arm rests, and crossed her legs. There was a thoughtful look on her face, while she played with her braids, though there was a bit of an evil sparkle in her eye. She grinned some, liking the idea she was concocting, and tilted her head slightly to the left as she continued playing with her hair.

Uma had been seated on the platform near the enchanted lake, lightly tapping her nails on the book that she’d chosen to read. Her mother’s story, The Little Mermaid, though she was certain she’d heard it a thousand times. Of course she was quite certain it was one sided. Wretched girl this, and wretched girl that, she would hear. Tossing her braids over her shoulder, she opened the front cover, and turned until she’d gotten to the first page; the start of the story.

Instead of reading, she stared. Was she really that curious as to how her mother was defeated at the hands of a Mermaid who was a teenager at the time? Did she really need this knowledge, or was she doing it to finally be able to criticize her mother after everything she’d endured on the isle? Now that she had it open, there was no turning back was there? Sighing, she began to read before she thought about it anymore than she already had.

Soon, she would find that there was a lot within the story that she had not been told. For to say her mother had kept an eye on the girl during her endeavours, she sure had a knack for not telling the entire story as it was, and this was just the beginning; however it didn’t come as a surprise. The very start of the story, and her mother’s scheming. She could only imagine what happened once Ariel actually paid her a visit, but it would be a while before she had gotten to that.

She laid down on her side propping up on her arm against the ground, knuckles pressed against her temple, as she held her head over the book. Her dark brown eyes scanned the words, slowly, taking in the details that were provided. After a while, she shut the book, and laid her head on her arm, thoroughly frustrated. She wasn’t even a fourth of the way into the book, and she didn’t want to continue reading it.

Now that she was done reading, for now at least, she would need to do something to occupy her time. While she was there, she could go for a swim, but she hadn’t brought anything to change into. With that little detail, she chose to watch the water, after placing the book in her bag, and simply relaxed, enjoying the peace and serenity of her surroundings.

Three words that can describe Uma are: Angry; Bitter; Impatient. She has a deepset disliking for Mal, making the girl her nemesis, especially since she was giving the nickname 'Shrimpy' by her. She comes off this way toward people she doesn't know, and people she doesn't like, but underneath that angry, bitter exterior, is someone who is both kind, and caring. She hides this part of her well, that is until one of her friends is in danger. Even in dire situations she will stop to help them.
<br><br>
If you want to get on her bad side? Call her Shrimpy. She utterly despises it. She is unforgiving, and will more than likely show it. Other than that, not many things can tip her off. She also dislikes being humiliated, and double-crossed, but who doesn't?

Uma has chocolate colored skin, dark brown eyes, and aqua, black-white braids, and sky blue-painted nails. She ordinarily wears an aqua leather top with multicolored bands like a skirt, a purple translucent top, an aqua leather coat with gold details, and multicolored bands on the shoulders, dark aqua pants with zippers, and brown boots with pearls, sea-stars, shells, and her pirate crew's symbolic pin. Accompanying these, she wears a black pirate hat with brown details, sea-stars, shells and her pirate crew's symbolic pin, black fingerless gloves with sea-stars, pearl bracelets, a sky blue bracelet with spikes, black and brown belts, a black band.

Uma was born to Ursula on the Isle of the Lost. While there she tried to affiliate herself with Mal, and her group of friends, but not only was she rejected, she was given the nickname 'Shrimpy' after an event she would rather not repeat. Ever since then, she would hang with a Pirate Gang, and not only did she make them her companions, she practically became their leader. Nothing was done without her knowledge, or her permission when it came to them.
<br><br>
Working as a waitress at her mother's restaurant 'Ursula's Fish and Chips' was almost enough to drive her mad. She worked hard helping her mother run that place, practically busing the tables while she was in the back preparing the food, but of course she was unappreciated. The persistant nagging of the customers when they hadn't received what they wanted would cause her to snap and say something along the lines of 'Life ain't fair,' or 'We can't all get what we want, now can we?' before returning to her work hotly, building the need to get as far away as possible. She hated working there, just as much as she hated living on the Isle. There were too many restrictions, and so much she wanted to do, but she was unable to because of the barrier that surrounded the Island.
<br><br>
When invitations went out, she was amongst the first to receive one of the parchments, and along with everyone else left the Isle of the Lost, and moved to Auradon.

Magic: Like her mother, she can use Sea Magic, and other forms of the word willingly.

Octopus Transformation: Upon entering the water, she can be transformed into a cephalopod appearance similar to that of her mother, a giant octopus with a human body. -Does not have to do this all the time-
<br><br>
Aquatic Respiration: Self explanatory; A given. The ability to breathe underwater.
