Mirror Mirror, On The Wall
Beauty and the Beast
Personality & Appearance
Ben is one of those guys who, first and foremost, means well. He genuinely wants to help out anyone he can. As a result, he made the proclamation to open up Auradon Prep to the kids of villains. One of the things that can be taken from this is that he genuinely believes there is good in everyone, which can come as a bit of a naive side compared to what others would expect. However, if told that he would disagree. He would prefer to come off as a naive idealist and give people a chance than just assume the worst.
Ben is a student who always appears to be dressed properly. Wearing his parents' colors of blue and yellow, he tends to be dressed somewhat preppy, although on occasions where he is not doing school, sport, or other things requiring a proper attire, he does actually have an occasional set of normal clothes. One of the other things to factor is that Ben tends to be well-groomed. He knows he will be King one day and goes to great lengths to try and present himself in an appropriate light in appearance.
History & Powers
Ben has had a bit of good fortune in from the start of his life. He was born to the King and Queen of Auradon, the token parents for goodness. Of course for most of the kingdom this was an exceptional joy and one of the occasions where the Isle was actually able to get some TV aside from the usual encouragement to be good the TV showed. His mom took a heavy emphasis on raising him well, likely to avoid her son turning into an egotist like Gaston. As a result of this Ben's personality was heavily influenced by his mother. He was taught kindness and fairness, not to mention started on reading as soon as he could, true to his mom's
Of course, once schooling started he had a bit of an odd situation. He was treated nicely, even by Auradon standards because of who his parents were. It made him uncomfortable to have people trying to befriend him due to that. As a result he was never really sure if people were or were not being genuine. To that end from the start he began to try to get people to treat him just like everybody else. He came to accept that it was partly unavoidable but he liked to think he made progress on earning friends through his personality rather than his status.
At some point he began to date Audrey. He actually at one point found her endearing. She had always seemed to be the perfect princess for him. Every quality she possessed was one a princess should have. Indeed, her grooming for the role was something else. And even then, she was very kind to those not of royal blood. However, over time something felt off about it. It was nothing on Audrey's end, but it just did not seemed they clicked. Then he had the weirdest dream about a purple-haired girl and once he heard Audrey sing Once Upon a Dream he realized both how wrong the Isle was for the VKs and how, sadly, there was no real heavy connection between him and Audrey. Of course, he was too good-natured to break it up with her.
During this time he also had begun to take over more kingly duties. If asked about it Ben would say the first meeting crashed and burned in spectacular fashion by his own temper. Fortunately he managed to patch things over by meeting with Grumpy, which under no circumstances is a pleasant or easy thing to do.
Right now he is dealing with people on the Isle. His proclamation has had major consequences, some good some bad. Right now he is just hoping everything calms down and it all works out.
